Snippet from Symphony X | In the Dragon“s Den
Oooh this is a fun one! I used this section as a technique study for a while. The string skipping section is brutal but a lot of fun to play. Michael Romeo is a true master of his craft and he had amassive influence on me and my playing. I use my Ibanez RGD2120Z-ISH in this video. I swapped out the pickups for a set of DiMarzio CrunchLab & LiquiFire and I love this guitar. It is one of my go to instruments for lower and heavy guitar tracks and was also featured on the EP 1 of Holometry.

Rota provides the vocals on the vocal version of this song. Listen to it here. I used my Ibanez “Frankenibby” on this song and playthrough. It originally was an RG 550 which I bought in 2001. I later upgraded the pickups to a set of Bare Knuckle Polymath PUs. As a final edition I swapped out the neck due to it getting bendy over the years. I am sure this is not a manufacturing issue with Ibanez but rather the abuse the neck suffered over the years. This Guitar moved to the UK with me back in 2003 and was my first true work horse.
Rhythm Guitar Cover | Savatage – Of Rage And War
This particular song contains some of my favorite riffs. Played on my trusted 1989 USA made Hamer Centaura, this is a lot of fun! As I stated before, my very first guitar was a Hamer Slammer Series Centaura which I loved. A USA made Hamer guitar was on my shopping list for a long time. Back in the day Hamer built some of the finest instruments out there.
